Early Music Performer (1999-2022)

Early Music Performer was founded in 1999 as a successor to Leading Notes. The first nine issues were in an informal newsletter format produced quarterly, but from 2002-2022 it was professionally printed for NEMA by Ruxbury Publications and became a more substantial academic journal, focusing on topics relating to performance in early music. It was normally published twice a year, under editor Andrew Woolley. From 2023 the scope and size of the journal were expanded, it moved to pdf-only publication and the title was changed to Early Music Performance & Research, with editor Samuel Teague.
