The National Early Music Association (registered charity no. 297300) was formed in 1981 to bring together the many strands of early musical activity in Britain, and promote the appreciation and performance of early music. Best known for its publications (including the Early Music Yearbook, NEMA Newsletter, Early Music Performer and its successor EMPR), NEMA is now being revitalised as a network connecting performers, ensembles, educators, academics, regional forums, students, and enthusiasts. Its mission is to foster collaboration, share knowledge, and support the future of the Early Music community across Britain and worldwide.
